Accommodation pacakge general conditions

Payment:

The Around Iceland accommodation packages are based on full prepayment. A deposit of 20% of the full package rate needs to be paid at booking confirmation. The payment is refundable in case of a cancelation more than 28 days prior to arrival. Full payment must have been received one month prior to arrival.

Payment for deposit and final payment will be collected via credit card payment or if agreed on forehand can be made via our bank transfer (account number upon request). Íslandshótel Around Iceland department will send a payment link for the credit card payment.
Íslandshótel accepts the following credit cards; VISA, MASTER/EUROCARD, AMEX AND DINERS CLUB.

We reserve the right to cancel any part - or the entire tour arrangements - if the deposit is not paid with booking confirmation and/or balances are not paid one month before first check in date of the tour. Any unauthorized deductions from invoices or late payments may also result in an automatic cancellation. Cancellation fees are as per our cancellation policy below. All cancellation fees are due immediately after receipt of the appropriate invoice and may be deducted from the deposit / balance already received.

Cancellation
Should you need to cancel your tour, you must notify Íslandshótel directly in writing. Your cancellation will only become valid once Íslandshótel has confirmed cancellation in writing.

Change of reservation
Once a reservation is confirmed, any changes to a tour (e.g. date, tour, accommodation) are subject to a fee.
All change requests must be made in writing from the person who submitted the booking. It is occasionally necessary for Íslandshótel Around Iceland to make changes due to availability. Íslandshótel Around Iceland reserves the right to make such changes and send a notification until 1 week prior to arrival about the changes.

Vouchers
The final hotel list / Voucher will be sent by email once the payment has been received. Please check the voucher when received to assure that they are correct according to the last confirmation.
Please show the appropriate voucher at each subsequent hotel.
Íslandshótel reserves the right to change accommodation with short notice based on availability.

Hotel used
Hotels used are part of Íslandshótel (Hótel Reykjavík or Fosshotel), or similar, are minimum 3-star hotels. 

Hotel rooms
All rooms are either double/twin or single. Triple rooms are double rooms with an extra bed, and therefore only recommended for 2 adults + 1 children, NOT 3 adults. All confirmed rooms will offer private bathroom.

Children Policy
Infants stay free of charge and cots are free of charge.
Children 3 to 5 years old stay free of charge when using existing beds.
Free complimentary breakfast included.
Children in separate rooms pay adult price.

Parking
Íslandshótel offer free parking with the Around Iceland tours. There is a limited amount of parking spaces at Fosshotel Lind and Fosshotel Rauðará. There is no free parking available at Hótel Reykjavík Saga, Hotel Reykjavík Centrum, Fosshotel Reykjavík and Fosshotel Baron.

Rates
Rates are per room (not per person).
No further commissions given. All rates include breakfast, VAT (11%) and all other local taxes.
Rates are SUBJECT TO CHANGE due to inflation, VAT change, taxes and exchange rate.

Included
Accommodation and breakfast for the number of nights stated in each tour and Wi-Fi access.

Not included
Rental car, domestic flights, ferries, boat trips, roadmaps, guidebooks and entrance fees.

Rental cars
Please note that Around Iceland tours do not include rental cars.

Satisfaction / complaints
Íslandshótel will do their absolute best to make your stay in Iceland is an enjoyable one. However, if you find anything unsatisfactory during your hotel stay, please inform the hotel’s front desk staff immediately so that the problem can be rectified. We can´t make any adjustments or give concessions once the entire tour has been completed if dissatisfaction has not immediately been registered during the stay itself.
Íslandshótel will not be held responsible for these unreported incidents hence no reimbursements of any kind may be requested.

Safety
It is very important to keep in mind that Icelandic Road conditions can never be compared with those in Europe or USA. Please drive carefully, especially on gravel roads.  Always pay close attention to warnings signs regarding weather and road conditions. We recommend to check daily the weather forecast in Iceland (in English).
Before you cross non-bridged rivers, always make sure you know how strong the current is and how deep the water is. Do not cross a river unless another car is in sight and could assist in case of an emergency. Please note: Off road driving is strictly forbidden in Iceland. You can except to be fined if off road driving occurs. 

Sights
Our itineraries are only suggestions but not a full or a detailed list of sights to be seen on each day. Please note that it might not be possible to visit all mentioned sights at all times of the year. For example, very few or no whales at all can be seen in North Iceland during wintertime. We recommend the use of a good guidebook while travelling around Iceland.

Force Majeure
Notwithstanding anything else herein contained to the contrary, Íslandshótel cannot be held liable for delays or cancellations that are caused by events that are beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of civil or military authority, acts of terrorism, insurrections, peace or army action, civil commotion, demonstrations, natural disasters, etc.
