  • Íslandshótel story goes back to 1992 when Hotel Reykjavík opened with 30 rooms. 30 years later, our Hotel Reykjavík and Fosshotel brands include 18 hotels with close to 2000 hotel rooms in some of the best locations of Iceland. Seven of our hotels are in Reykjavík and 11 around Iceland. At Íslandshótel we try to minimize our environmental impact as much as possible and lead by example.

  • From the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have emphasized the safety and wellness of our guests and employees. In Iceland, good progress was made with regards to containment of the COVID-19 virus due to early preventive action and extensive testing on large part of the population. We also participate in a project launched by the Icelandic Tourist Board based on a foreign model and called Clean & Safe. A promise made to welcome guests in a responsible way so that they feel safe while creating good memories.

  • Standard check in time is 3pm local hotel time and check-out time is 12pm local hotel time. 

  • You can contact the hotel and request an early check in and/or late check-out for additional charge. This is based on availability and possible to request via the welcome email guests receive shortly before arrival.

    If you arrive earlier, the reception will gladly store your baggage in the baggage area until your room is ready.

  • Bookings made on the website can be cancelled via link in the booking confirmation email. Bookings can not be modified.

  • Guests can enjoy free parking at all our hotels in the countryside. Public parking is available at our other hotels in Reykjavík per additional charge and parking garages are close by.

  • There are charging stations at all our hotels in the countryside and also at some of our hotels in Reykjavík. Please check out the hotel pages to find out more about the services for each hotel. 

     

  • We have over 25 meeting and event venues in Reykjavík and in the countryside. So whether you are looking for the quiet surroundings of the Icelandic countryside or the bustling city center, we have got you covered.

  • Yes, dogs are allowed at the hotels*. To request a dog friendly room when booking, it is important that you inform us in the comment box. To guarantee the room, you'll have to contact the hotel.

  • To request housekeeping services, please inform the front desk upon check-in or before 10 AM prior to the desired service. You are also welcome to request fresh towels, linens, or any additional amenities as required.

  • At Íslandshotel, we uphold a strong commitment to sustainability and ensuring the privacy of our guests. As part of that commitment, our housekeeping team enters your room exclusively upon your request, 
    providing cleaning services and changing towels. By implementing this practice, we significantly reduce water and chemical consumption. However, if you prefer daily cleaning or require any restock of amenities,we are delighted to accommodate your preferences.
